Bahia de Los Angeles (Baja, Mexico)

When winter has set in across the land and days bring only the cold and wet, it’s time to pack up and head south of the border. The peninsula of Baja Mexico has many beaches you can escape winter to, but for kayaking adventure no place in Mexico compares to Bahia de Los Angeles. John Steinbeck immortalized it in his book, The Log of the Sea of Cortez, depicting what some people call ‘the poor man’s Galapagos’. For five days and nights, we will explore the Bay and the many offshore islands that lie within easy paddling range of each other. In Seaward double kayaks we’ll paddle this rare archipelago in comfort and style. Whales are a big attraction here, and as we pass by we may see sperm whales, orca , humpbacks, and gray whales alike. Other sea mammals including seals, sea lions and dolphins are abundant. Clamming is a favorite pastime; clams make great appetizers to gourmet meals prepared by HKA guides whose camp craft, skills, and knowledge of the natural history are paralleled only by their adventure skills and abilities.

Price: $1150.($100 additional fee for panga boat rental-optional)
All equipment provided; you must bring your own clothing and personal gear as well as a sleeping bag. Our trips are kept small to ensure a quality experience and minimize our impact on the environment.

It\'s been an unusually cold summer this year on the Humboldt coast. We see folks from all over the country and world passing through our little rental shop on Humboldt Bay. They can\'t believe this is the sunny California they always heard about. I joke with them that selling fleece and sweaters is booming industry here locally. Things seem to be turning around however with Indian summer kicking in and a string of some very nice, sunny days. We are looking forward to a very active and busy Labor day weekend. Come down for a rental or sign up for one of our world class tours. Humboats leads the way in stellar opportunities for Kayaking with wildlife and top of the line equipment rentals. Check us out. Humboats is looking to trade our services for some one with Web design capabilities. We might be experts on the water but are all thumbs when it comes to updating and making changes to our website. Any all help is welcome.
